Athletic Bilbao sporting director Miguel Gonzalez has emerged as a hot property for Manchester United’s Ineos Sports group.

United are still looking for a new sporting director to fill the vacant position following the departure of Dan Ashworth.

Spanish media reported that Ashworth’s สมัคร UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีสำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ direction at Old Trafford was not in line with the team. And therefore had to part ways, even though he had been with the team for less than a year.

The final straw was the selection of a new head coach to replace Erik ten Hag in November. With Ashworth suggesting former England manager Gareth Southgate but the board did not buy the idea and opted for Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim.

The awkwardness led the 53-year-old strategist to part ways.

The lesson the Red Devils learned from that incident was that they need a hard worker who is also easy-going, and Bilbao’s Gonzalez fits the bill.

At just 37 years old, having climbed the ranks in talent scouting and personnel management, he is still ready to learn how to be obedient.

The current contract is only until June 2026, so if any transfer is to be made in good faith, it must be done in the summer to learn the secrets behind the scenes of Bilbao.
